Law-abiding citizens in Kansas should be trusted with the exercise of their right to carry concealed weapons. No qualified Kansan should have to be in fear because he or she is denied the legal ability to be armed when they believe they need to be. Our government should secure our rights against criminals and aid us in our own defense. This means removing the harsh punishments allowed for carrying concealed where posted for no carry. This should be handled just like inappropriate dress - if the owner has a problem the person carrying must leave or face trespass changes. I believe that there will be fewer posted establishments. Retire police officers should have an uncontested right to concealed carry anywhere. I have been given an “A” rating by the NRA and I am a lifetime member and gun owner.
