KULTALA'S SILENCE ON GAY MARRIAGE, ABORTION AND CLONING DEAFENING

> >

Leavenworth- "My opponent's silence on all Kansas values is deafening" says Steve Fitzgerald, running for the Kansas 5th Senate District. "She's been given every opportunity to provide her views to the public but refuses to."

"Our last chance to address voter concerns at forums was last week. She didn't bother to attend the Kansans For Life forum conducted in Lansing though other Democrat candidates did; and last week at the Leavenworth City forum I addressed Kansas Values issues where she had a full minute to rebut my comments about her positions but remained silent."

Fitzgerald continued saying "My opponent claims she would be a moderate voice but in fact it is her views that are outside the mainstream. Endorsed by a myriad of groups well to the left of the electorate in District 5, she was openly recruited to run as a "real Democrat" liberal against a moderate Democrat. She is now being a typical politician hiding her extreme views by distorting mine -- on abortion, on gay marriage, on cloning. The good news for District 5 is that these stealth tactics won't work as her agenda is loud and clear -- to impose left wing policies on the vast majority of Kansans."

Kultala's officially filed campaign contribution records reveal that she has funding and/or endorsements from the following organizations: Bluestem Fund (Governor's abortion rights group partly funded by abortionist George Tiller); Mainstream Coalition (Kansas City based abortion rights activist group also partly funded by George Tiller); Coalition for Lifesaving Cures (backers of embryonic stem cell research and cloning); Gay, Lesbian, Bi-sexual and Transgender (GLBT) Democratic Caucus endorsement.

"She's hiding her views favoring abortion, gay marriage and embryonic stem cell research from the district's voters and that's just plain wrong" said Fitzgerald. "The voters deserve to know who they're hiring to represent them in Topeka and how they think on important issues. There is every reason to think some or all of these critical and often controversial issues will come before the Kansas Senate in the next session. Simply put, my views on family and Kansas values conform with the majority of people in the district. Mrs Kultala's do not and she's staying silent to hide that."
